Guru is delighted to announce that the company has won the Energy Innovation (UK) category in this year’s Ashden Awards.
Guru develops intelligent technology to make energy systems more transparent, lower cost and lower carbon. The team delivers market-leading hardware and data analytics across heat networks, improving performance for developers, heat suppliers, customers and the planet.
Delivering low-carbon heat is one of the biggest challenges in the transition to a net-zero emissions future. Guru’s technology helps to accelerate this transition by using AI-driven analytics to improve efficiency and change the future of heat for the better.
Established in 2001, the Ashden Awards are globally recognised as a mark of excellence in the field of climate solutions. Ashden receives hundreds of applications every year from countries across the world, and together with expert judges they choose eleven winners in a variety of fields, from fuel poverty to clean, affordable electricity, and from community initiatives to energy innovation.
Ashden works with the winners long after the awards ceremony, helping to share their expertise, make introductions to funders and investors, and tell their stories.
Guru’s CEO, Casey Cole said:
We’re delighted to be named the winners of the Energy Innovation (UK) category in this year’s Ashden Awards. The Ashden Award celebrates the very best of sustainable energy enterprises from around the world, and the rigorous selection process ensures that only the most impactful organisations make it through. We’re thrilled that Guru’s work on decarbonising heat and our for-profit, purpose-driven approach have been recognised by the Ashden team.
Nic Mason, Guru’s Chief Operating & Product Officer added:
For Guru’s Product team, winning the Ashden Award is an excellent validation of the user-centred design that we deliver in everything we do at Guru. We work with our clients to identify how we can best support them to manage the performance of their heat networks – so that together we can achieve meaningful cost and carbon savings. The award signals that we are delivering products that deliver on our promise to accelerate the decarbonisation of heat in the UK and beyond, and is a massive boost to our efforts.
Guru’s R&D Product Owner, Camille Gillet also said:
Last year Carbon Trust certified our Heat Networks Life Cycle Assessment Model, which calculates greenhouse gas savings of 5.95 tCO2e per dwelling over ten years when using our technology. Winning the Energy Innovation (UK) category in this year’s Ashden Awards is further recognition of our commitment to make energy systems more transparent, lower cost and lower carbon.
Harriet Lamb, CEO of UK-based Ashden said:
The next 12 months will be crucial in tackling the climate crisis. Climate solutions can help us build back better – as long as investors, funders and politicians pour finance and political will behind these leading organisations. that are already having a huge impact.
